Information about how we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and how you can exercise your rights as a data subject.
Effective date: 1 May 2026
1. Why this page exists
The General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") gives you specific rights over your personal data. Because RideWise Moto is operated from the European Union (Slovakia) and is available to riders across the EU and beyond, we want to make these rights clear and easy to exercise.
This page is in addition to our Privacy Policy, which describes what data the app actually uses. The GDPR page focuses on your legal rights and how to use them.
2. Data Controller
The data controller responsible for your personal data is:
artPhone s.r.o. Dunajska 8, 81108 Bratislava, Slovakia VAT ID: SK2120056169 E-mail: info@ridewisemoto.com
For any GDPR-related question, please write to the e-mail address above with the subject line "GDPR request".
3. Personal data we process and the legal basis
We only process the minimum data needed for the app to function. The table below summarizes what we process and why.
Data Purpose Legal basis (GDPR) The data we process, why we process it, and the legal basis under the GDPR:
• Device location (precise) Purpose: Querying weather forecasts for your area. Stays on your device — never transmitted to us. Article 6(1)(a) consent (iOS location permission)
• Anonymous device identifier (UUID) Purpose: Linking a "ride confirmed" tap to a community count, without identifying you Article 6(1)(f) legitimate interest in offering an aggregated community feature
• Approximate location (~5 km rounded) Purpose: Displaying nearby aggregated ride confirmations Article 6(1)(f) legitimate interest
• Rider profile label (e.g. "beginner", "experienced") Purpose: Aggregated statistics within the community feature Article 6(1)(f) legitimate interest
E-mail address Purpose: Sending the optional weekend forecast newsletter Article 6(1)(a) explicit consent (opt-in)
• Selected language Purpose: Sending the newsletter in your preferred language Article 6(1)(a) consent (linked to e-mail submission)
We do not profile you for advertising. We do not sell any data. We do not combine these data sets to identify individual riders.
4. Where your data is stored
Personal data submitted to the community feature and the newsletter is stored in Google Firebase / Firestore, hosted in the europe-west3 (Frankfurt, Germany) region.
Google acts as our data processor under a Data Processing Agreement. While storage is configured for the EU region, Google as a U.S.-headquartered company may, in limited operational scenarios (such as backups, abuse detection, or support), process metadata in other regions. These transfers are covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) in Google's Data Processing and Security Terms.
For more information you may consult Google's Cloud Privacy Notice and Data Processing Addendum.
5. How long we keep your data
Community ride confirmations (anonymous device ID + rounded location + timestamp + score + profile): retained for 90 days, then automatically deleted. This window ensures the displayed community count remains relevant to current riding conditions.
Weekend newsletter subscriptions (e-mail + language + device ID): retained for as long as you remain subscribed. After you unsubscribe (or send a deletion request), the corresponding record is deleted within 30 days.
Backups: routine Google Firebase backups may retain deleted data for up to a further 30 days before being purged from cold storage.
6. Your rights under the GDPR
As a data subject, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
• Right of access (Article 15) — to receive a copy of your personal data we hold.
• Right to rectification (Article 16) — to correct inaccurate data.
• Right to erasure / "right to be forgotten" (Article 17) — to request deletion of your data.
• Right to restriction of processing (Article 18) — to ask us to limit how we use your data.
• Right to data portability (Article 20) — to receive your data in a machine-readable format.
• Right to object (Article 21) — to object to processing based on legitimate interest.
• Right to withdraw consent (Article 7) — to withdraw your consent at any time, with no effect on processing carried out beforehand. This applies to the weekend newsletter and to iOS location permission.
• Right to lodge a complaint (Article 77) — see Section 8 below.
7. How to exercise your rights
Send an e-mail to info@ridewisemoto.com with the subject line "GDPR request" and tell us:
Which right you wish to exercise.
Which data your request concerns:
For the newsletter: include the e-mail address you used to subscribe — this is the only identifier we need.
For community confirmations: because we do not store your name or e-mail with these records, we can only identify your data by the anonymous device identifier. The current value of your device identifier can be made available within the app on request — please contact us if you need help retrieving it.
We will respond within 30 days of receiving your request, in line with Article 12(3) of the GDPR. If your request is complex we may extend this period by up to two further months and will inform you of the reason.
8. Right to lodge a complaint
If you believe we have not handled your personal data in accordance with the GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because RideWise Moto is operated from Slovakia, the lead authority is:
Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov Slovenskej republiky (Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic)
Hraničná 12, 820 07 Bratislava 27, Slovakia
Website: dataprotection.gov.sk
You may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority of your country of residence within the EU.
9. Children
RideWise Moto is intended for adult motorcycle riders. The app is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly process personal data of children. If you believe a child has interacted with the app in a way that resulted in personal data being submitted, please contact us at info@ridewisemoto.com and we will delete the data without undue delay.
10. Changes to this notice
We may update this GDPR information page from time to time, for example if our data processing changes or if regulatory guidance evolves. Material changes will be reflected in an updated Effective date at the top of this page. For ongoing transparency, the in-app Privacy Policy screen is also updated alongside the website.
